This training is for anyone who wants to support families during one of life's most challenging moments.
You might be:
You don't need formal qualifications. You don't need to be a marriage celebrant. You just need the desire to help families honour their loved ones with dignity and care.
When someone dies, families are often overwhelmed. They're grieving, making decisions under pressure, and trying to create a ceremony that truly honours their loved one.
Sometimes they are being rushed by other suppliers, and you have a chance to work with the family to slow things down, and ensure things unfold on their timeline.
Many families want a funeral that reflects the values of their loved one - personal, meaningful, and special.
They want someone who will:
✓ Listen to their stories and understand what mattered most
✓ Guide them through decisions with patience and clarity
✓ Create a ceremony that feels authentic to their loved one
✓ Support them with confidence and compassion
✓ Help them include family members who want to participate
That's where you come in.
As a trained funeral celebrant, you become a steady presence during their hardest days. You help families create farewells that bring comfort, closure, and connection.
This isn't theoretical training. It's practical, step-by-step instruction from an experienced trainer Yvonne Adele who is also a seasoned funeral celebrant, funeral director, end-of-life doula, marriage celebrant and MC.
By the end of this course, you'll be able to:
✅ Conduct your first funeral with confidence (even if you've never done one)
✅ Support bereaved families with skill
✅ Build your funeral celebrancy business
You'll complete a practice funeral services during the course and have access to ongoing assignments to refine your skills.

"Do I need to be a marriage celebrant first?"
No. This course is open to anyone. Marriage celebrants have experience in understanding ceremony structure, but we've successfully trained many people who came to funeral work first.
"Is 2 days really enough?"
For most people, yes. Here's why: We're teaching you practical skills, not academic theory. You'll learn ceremony structure, how to interview families, what to say in difficult moments, and how to deliver with confidence.
If you're already a marriage celebrant, you know ceremony craft - this adapts what you know for funeral contexts. If you're new to celebrancy, we focus on what you actually need to know, not months of unnecessary coursework.
"Can I handle the emotional weight of this work?"
This is a valid concern. Funeral work is emotionally demanding. But it's also deeply meaningful. Most of our celebrants find it rewarding, not draining - because you're helping families through their hardest moments. We teach you how to process your emotions and maintain healthy boundaries.
Our grads agree:
"I feel confident that I can now co-create truly meaningful ceremonies that will help in facilitating healing and not add trauma to the loved ones' grieving experience."
— Sharon T., Spiritual Counsellor & End of Life Celebrant
"I have already started putting my documentation together and feel so much more confident about starting my career as a Funeral Celebrant."
— Maggie
"Best delivery of a course I have ever experienced from a trainer. Your passion is contagious. Life changing."
— Monica
"It just felt like a big chat with friends. I was dreading 'studying' for the first time in years, but that feeling proved unfounded."
— Donna M.
